Birthday Party Invitation analysing part 2
I have chosen these 3 invitations as they are all made for a specific age group. I have chosen a young child's invitation with bright colors and a clown. All kids love the circus and like funny clowns, so this would convince the small child to come to the party. I have also chosen and adults invitation. The colors suggest that the party will be very calm and relaxing due to the swirls and patterns decorating the card. I have chosen a teenagers birthday party invitation which suggests that the party will be fun, wild and exciting due to the usage of black color which will make the pink and white decoration really draw attention to the reader.

Styrofoam Plate Speaker Information
Overall Information:
The general speaker takes an electrical signal, and translates it back into physical vibrations to create sound waves.
All speakers have the same basic elements, they have a diaphragm, they have a form of suspension for the diaphragm, there is a voice coil and also a magnet.
This same basic principle of a speaker has been around since the late 1800's since Alexander Graham Bell made the first loud speaker.
More detailed Information:
A driver produces sound waves by rapidly vibrating a flexible cone, or diaphragm.

- The cone is usually made of paper, plastic or metal,it's attached on the wide end to the suspension.
- The suspension, or surround, is a rim of flexible material that allows the cone to move, and is attached to the driver's metal frame, called the basket.
- The narrow end of the cone is connected to the voice coil.
- The coil is attached to the basket by the spider, a ring of flexible material. The spider holds the coil in position, but allows it to move freely back and forth.

Reflection 3/2/2015
On Wednesday me and Danae met up to start the speaker.
We found a good website to help us. For this speaker we didn't need very much of cables or computer related materials but we used wire and magnets...
Here is the website:

In the weekend Rana then did her app successfully to choose music for the speaker.

Reflection 13-01-2014
Reflection
In this lesson me, Danae and Rana were researching on ideas for the Tech Fair project. We came up with these choices/varieties to do our project on:
Danae's work:
This is a charger made out of batteries.
The charger is a small DIY kit is available from the Makershed and works well for any gadget that can be charged via a USB port. It's been tested with iPods, cameras, cell phones, and other gadgets to make sure that it works well. What's really cool is that the power comes from 2 AA batteries. That's right, you just plug in two disposable AA batteries and charging will start
I have found these ideas to make as a project:
This is a homemade Boom box for your IPod.
Tools you may need:
- Drill
- Variety of drill bits
- Table saw (or a normal wood saw)
- Hack saw
- Selection of screwdrivers
- Wood and metal files
- Chisels
This is the video for how to make it.

This is an instruction site to make a TV Antenna.
Here's what you need to get started:
- 22 inch section of 2x3 or 1x3 board
- 18 Screws
- 18 Washers, sized to fit on the screws to clamp down wire
- 15 feet of wire. Roughly 5 feet of copper three conductor house wiring will do fine. Coat-hangers can work if stripped of paint at all connections.
- Reflector grid (Mesh like reflective metallic material.) Two 15x9 grill screens work well for a few dollars. (See first video below.)
- One Balun - A thing with a coax plug on one side, two wires with screw holes on the other. These are commonly used to attach old TV's to coax antenna's (or cable.) They are inexpensive (I've seen them in bulk for as little as 30 cents each), and commonly available. My local dollar store carries them!
- Drill
- Screw driver, or screw bit for drill
- Wire cutters
- Pliers

This is a video to make a solar powered vehicle/car.
A solar powered vehicle is basically a vehicle on 4 wheels with a solar panel attached on top of the wheels facing the sun. The solar panel then collects the energy from the concentrated sun rays and turns it into energy which then gets conveyed to the wheels through wires to make them spin.

Rana's Idea:
Rana's idea was to make an app that would control which songs the speaker would play. She planned that a person would have to press a button and say what song they wanted to hear and it would come up and get played and made louder by the speaker.
After discussing these varieties of ideas, we came to a conclusion.
Me, Danae and Rana have decided to make a mini speaker/boom box connected to a Computer in order to play music. Then we would use Rana's app for the speaker to play the right music.
Here I have found a website to help us throughout the project:
